HI!
I'M LUCA
BUSCATO
WHO I AM
I was born and raised in San Donà di Piave, a town in the metropolitan city of Venice. Since childhood, I have cultivated a strong passion for photography in all its forms, using my parents’ camera to take my first pictures. This interest led me to choose an educational path that would allow me to develop my photographic skills, so I enrolled in the audiovisual program at the Scarpa-Mattei Institute in Fossalta di Piave. This experience proved to be essential in many ways, academically and professionally, as well as personally and socially. During the five-year program, I took part in the school’s WebTV project, where I had the opportunity to join the editorial team and gain firsthand experience in this field. It was through this project that I developed a strong interest in journalism and communication. I decided to pursue this path by enrolling in the Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science at the University of Padua, marking another important milestone in my life.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in political science (L-36)
University of Padua – 2025 – 104/110
During my three-year degree program, I received a multidisciplinary education that allowed me to consolidate and expand the knowledge I had already gained in the historical, legal, and economic fields, developing a deeper understanding of social, economic, and political dynamics. Moreover, my studies enabled me to approach the international context with greater awareness, especially thanks to courses in international relations, the history of European integration, and European Union law.
I completed my degree with a history-based thesis within the field of gender studies, entitled “Women and the Resistance: Historical Contribution and the Construction of Collective Memory”. Through this research, I examined the forms of women’s participation in the Italian Resistance between 1943 and 1945, as well as the social dynamics that, in the following years, led to their marginalization within national historical memory. As part of the thesis, I also carried out an interview with the partisan Sandra Gilardelli, collecting a firsthand account of great historical and human value.
High School diploma in “Audiovisual Studies”
I.I.I. Scarpa Mattei – 2022 – 100/100 cum laude
Over the five-year program, I deepened my knowledge of various shooting and photographic post-production techniques through the use of professional equipment. I also developed skills in audio-video recording and editing, in creating 2D and 3D graphic elements, and in designing and building websites, while also gaining a solid foundation in marketing and communication applied to the audiovisual field. At the same time, I acquired excellent command of the main Adobe Suite software (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Audition), good knowledge of Autodesk Maya, and experience in using professional cameras and camcorders.
During my studies, I had the opportunity to take part in several projects, including the WebTV and the “Progetto Dono”. In particular, I was selected to join the editorial team of the 2020–21 edition of the WebTV, an initiative in which students produce audiovisual content that is then broadcast live on YouTube. In this role, I actively contributed to the production of different segments throughout the entire edition.
In my final year, I was also chosen to collaborate on the creation of “Progetto Dono”, a short film made up of images and interviews aimed at raising awareness about the importance of donation. In this project, together with other students, I worked on the pre-production phase, audio-video filming, and editing.
